AVL 2nd Saturday is an initiative developed by Collect Art Asheville in 2011. The River Arts District Artists's "A Closer Look" & The Asheville Area Arts Council have added their wonderful participation as anchor arts based affiliates. The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce has also stepped up to help spread the word.

2nd Saturday puts the focus on ART, across theWestern North Carolina region, every 2nd Saturday of the month, year round, with 2nd Saturday partners holding kiln openings, art retrospectives, art installation, museum openings, gallery receptions, music, theatre & dance performances, open studio days & more, every 2nd Saturday... with the idea that art lovers from around the globe can now plan their visit to Asheville... knowing that every 2nd Saturday, all kinds of ART will be accessible in Asheville and its surrounding communities.
